The Idea box
Post an idea for the game, vote on other players' ideas, and see which ones get built.
Vesper City is built with its players. The Idea box (Help menu → Idea box) is where you tell us what you would like to see, and where everyone votes on what the city should get next.
Posting an idea
Give your idea a short title (up to 80 characters), say which part of the game it is about, and describe it (up to 1,000 characters). You can post 3 ideas a week. No links or contact details, and the usual word rules apply.
A new idea is not public. Only you and the staff can see it, marked "Waiting for staff review". Staff read every idea first.
What staff can do with it
- Open it for voting. The idea becomes public and voting stays open for 30 days. You get a notice, and so do other players, in one combined notice a day.
- Not this time. Staff give a short reason, and you see it. Ideas that were never opened stay private.
- Merge it with a very similar idea, so the votes are not split. Staff can also clear up a title or move the idea to a better part of the game.
Voting
Every player can vote 👍 yes or 👎 no on each public idea. You can change your mind, or take your vote back, until voting closes.
- One vote per account. Linked accounts count once.
- You can't vote on your own idea.
- Voting opens at level 3, once your account is 2 days old.
When voting closes
The idea shows Voting closed and the result. "Players backed it" needs at least 60% yes votes and a turnout of at least 5% of the players who were active in the last 30 days. Otherwise it shows "Didn't pass".
The result is advice, not a rule. Staff decide what happens next:
- Approved: the idea goes to design, and appears on the public Coming soon page with "Suggested by" and your game name.
- Planned: it is on the build list.
- Built: it is in the game. You earn a Visionary medal step, which is for show: no cash, Gold or Respect.
- Not this time: with a public reason.
You get a notice at every step.
