Gold and the store
Where Gold comes from, what the Gold Shop sells, what donator status gives, and how crates and their odds work.
Gold is Vesper City's premium currency. It is optional: everything in the game can also be earned by playing.
Where Gold comes from
Gold enters the game only one way: someone buys it with real money in Gold → Gold Store. You never earn Gold from crimes, jobs, events, daily rewards, achievements or crates.
The Gold Store sells packs of Gold and donator status. A pack arrives in your inventory as an item: open it for its Gold, donator days and any items inside, keep it for later, or sell it on the Bazaar. Like every Gold item, a pack can't be given away from your inventory: it changes hands only on the Bazaar or through a gang Armory. Buying one for a friend still works: tick "It's a gift" at checkout and it arrives in their inventory. Payment happens on the payment provider's own page; the game never sees your card details. Something wrong with a purchase? Ask for a refund from your orders.
Gold and other players
No Gold moves between players at launch. You can't give, send or trade Gold itself, and Bazaar Gold trading is closed. It may reopen later; that is a separate decision and there is no date.
What can be traded: the things you bought with Gold. A Gold pack, and the four Gold items you can keep (Energy refill, Nerve refill, Walk out of jail, Discharged and healed), can be sold on the City → Bazaar (from level 5) and passed through a gang Armory. They never change hands as a gift from your inventory.
What Gold can't do:
- The game never swaps Gold for cash itself, or cash for Gold.
- Gold can never be cashed out for real money.
- Gangs never hold Gold.
The Gold Shop
Gold → Gold Shop is where Gold is spent. It buys time, convenience and style, never strength. Services include energy and nerve refills, walking out of jail, leaving hospital healed, arriving from a trip at once, finishing a course or a home upgrade now, extra Bazaar listings, a name colour and more. Some have a daily limit, shown next to them, and the shop tells you when a service isn't available to you.
Buy to keep
Four services can also be bought to keep: Energy refill, Nerve refill, Walk out of jail and Discharged and healed. Press Buy to keep (up to 10 at a time) and you get a Gold item in your inventory, under Gold items, at the same price as using the service at once. Use it whenever you need it: from the inventory, or with Use one of yours in the Gold Shop. Using one counts against the same daily limit as the service, and the same checks apply (a full bar can't be refilled). A kept Walk out of jail works from your cell, and a kept Discharged and healed from the hospital ward.
Gold items follow the rules for Gold packs: you can sell them on the Bazaar, priced like the Gold behind them (see The Bazaar and markets), but you can't give them away, and no dealer buys them. If the payment for the Gold they were bought with is refunded or charged back, they are put on hold, wherever they are, until staff have looked into it.
Donator status
Every pack includes some donator days. While your status runs you get comfort and time, never fight power:
- +50 maximum energy and +5 maximum nerve
- 20% shorter hospital stays and 20% shorter jail time
- 50% faster travel
- 1 extra course at the same time, see Education
- 7 extra Bazaar listings
- 10% off Gold Shop services
- a star and a coloured name, plus the monthly member item on the first of each month
Crates and odds
Gold → Crates lists every crate, everything it can hold and the exact chance of each, the same for every player, before you open one. Crates come in some packs, and some can also be bought for cash from a level. Crates never hold Gold, weapons or vehicles. They are opened on the server with a secure random number, so nobody can change a result. In countries where paid loot boxes aren't allowed, crates hold fixed, named contents instead of odds.
There's also a free monthly draw: every player who plays in a month gets one entry, and buying never gives a better chance.
Tips
- Gold only comes from buying it, so don't trust anyone who offers you Gold for cash or says they can send you some. That is a scam.
- Check a crate's odds page before opening it, so you know what to expect.
- Donator perks help with time, not fights: training still matters.
