Respect, medals and titles
How to earn Respect, medals and earned titles at a steady pace, and what to spend Respect on.
Respect is what you spend, medals are what you keep, and titles are what you wear. None of them can be bought, which is exactly why they matter. The rules are in Respect and medals. Here is how to collect them steadily.
Earn Respect as you play
Most of your Respect comes from things you do anyway:
- Crimes pay Respect when they succeed, more for bigger jobs (Crimes).
- Fights pay 3 RP between equals when you win, more for beating someone above your level (Fights).
- Family contracts at the Social Club pay 2 RP per task, up to 20 RP a week (Landmarks and special buildings). They reset on Monday, so take them every week.
- Breakouts pay 2 RP when you free a prisoner.
- Daily rewards and medal steps pay a little too (Daily rewards).
Your gang's Respect is a separate ledger, so what you earn does not go into the gang's.
Spend it with a plan
Perks cost Respect, last for good and cannot be refunded. Before you buy:
- Decide how you play: crimes, fights, or staying out of cells.
- Look at the perks that help that style: better odds, bigger payouts, more damage, less jail or hospital time, better gym gains.
- Buy the one you will use every day first.
Perks that cut jail or hospital time share a ceiling with every other cut, so stacking has limits (Jail and hospital).
Collect medals without trying too hard
Medals are given automatically, once, when something you do over your career passes a mark: crimes, fights won, days worked, money banked and more. They can't be lost.
- Families climb through Bronze, Silver and Gold, some start at Copper, and counts that grow without end go on to Iron, the highest step.
- Each step pays cash and Respect, a little more each time.
- Check You → Medals now and then. The next step of a family shows exactly what to aim for.
- Habits earn medals: sign in every day, work your shifts, and bank your money.
- Vote for us earns voter medals, a ribbon and streak medals, looks only, never power (Vote for us).
Medals never give power. They are bragging rights, with a small reward on the way. You can hide any one from your profile; it still counts for you.
Titles and portraits
Your profile can show a title. A few cannot be typed, you must earn them. Pick yours in Edit profile.
- Winning an Iron medal unlocks a portrait nobody can buy.
- Leading a gang as its Don unlocks another.
- Founders of Vesper City have a title and portrait of their own, and that window closes for good (Founders, earned titles and portraits).
Tips
- Spend Respect on one perk at a time, and use it.
- Do the weekly contracts: it is the steadiest Respect there is.
- Look at the next medal step before you log off: you may be one action away.
